Afternoon Wine Tasting Cruise Aboard Wild Goose

1.00 pm – 4.00 pm • Thursday, October 23, 2008 • Box Lunch Included
Relax and get ready to voyage through the waters of Newport Harbor onboard the Wild Goose. Originally a United States Navy Minesweeper, this vessel was first launched at Ballard Marine & Railway Co. in Seattle. She served as a minesweeper during World War II for Canada’s Naval forces. Purchased for $116,000 by American film star John Wayne, she was renamed Wild Goose, and used as “The Duke’s” private getaway for family and friends’ excursions. John Wayne took his last trip on Wild Goose to Santa Catalina Island, two months before his passing. This multimillion dollar, 136-foot vessel offers three decks of luxurious accommodations and is tastefully decorated with John Wayne artwork, old Hollywood memories and priceless memorabilia. In accordance with its heritage, the yacht itself mirrors Mr. Wayne’s persona — powerful, comfortable and opulent.

While onboard you will be treated to all the best of the ultimate California experience, taking advantage of the breathtaking Pacific Ocean and an onboard wine tasting featuring a selection of California’s finest wineries. This private two-hour harbor cruise has been reserved exclusively for the National Renderers Association.
